Below are the terms and conditions of booking holidays at Moorehouse Farm
When you submit a booking via our online reservation system you will receive an automatically generated booking confirmation by email to the email address you provide at the checkout, and at this point a binding contract will arise.
The person making the booking accepts the contract on behalf of all members of your party and is responsible for making sure they accept the contract. We can’t accept bookings from anyone under the age of 18.
Terms of the agreement
All elements of these Terms & Conditions form the contract.
Alterations to your booking
Once a contract has arisen you will be unable to make any alterations without our agreement (this includes transferring your booking to anyone else, including the members of your party). If you need to make small changes to your booking (e.g. type of accommodation / number or people / number of horses) we will do our best to accommodate. We reserve the right to make a nominal charge of £25.00 to cover administration fees.
Cancelling your booking
If you need to cancel your booking prior to 12 weeks (84 days) before the start of your holiday, we will refund the total cost of the holiday minus a £25.00 administration fee. Cancellations made between 12 weeks (84 days) and 4 weeks (28 days) prior to the start of your holiday will receive a 50% refund of the total holiday cost including fees. If you cancel your holiday within 4 weeks (28 days) of the start date, you will be responsible for the full cost of your holiday including fees. If you need to cancel your holiday please call us and confirm your cancellation in writing. The date of the postmark on your letter or the email we receive is deemed the date of the cancellation.
Paying for your holiday
When placing your booking you will be required to pay for your holiday, including any extras, in full. (Please note the terms included in “Cancelling your booking” above).
All prices on this website include VAT and insurance premium tax (where applicable) at the current rate. If the rate increases after that date, prices may change to reflect the increase. All prices are subject to change depending on market pressures and could increase or decrease. However the holiday price paid at the time of booking will be the final price you pay and will not change, unless you make a change to your booking.
Our holidays are intended as a rural escape, and in order to ensure that all of our guests enjoy their stay with us we must insist that only those guests listed on your booking confirmation can occupy your holiday accommodation.
Numbers in your party
The total number in your party (including children and babies) must not exceed the maximum capacity of the holiday accommodation that you have booked.
Arrival and departure times
Your holiday accommodation will be available from 2pm on your arrival day. If you think you may arrive after 8pm on your arrival day please let us know in advance. If you don’t tell us in advance and your holiday home is not occupied by 10am on the day after your arrival day we will treat your booking as cancelled and reserve the right to re-let the holiday accommodation. Check-out times for all accommodation is 11am on your departure date. You are welcome to arrive and depart before and after the times stated in order to get your horse unloaded and settled but the holiday home or camping pitch will not be available until at least the times stated. If you wish to arrive earlier, or depart later than the times specified, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
All children must be properly supervised by parents or guardians throughout the holiday. Please make sure you always know where your children are.
We are a working stables and livery yard, and accept well behaved dogs in some of our accommodation. If any member of your party suffers from a relevant allergy we would strongly recommend that you consider this at the time of booking. All of our accommodation and most of the farm are non-smoking areas. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the farm. We reserve the right to ask you to leave the farm if you, or members of your party, do not adhere to our smoking policy.
Whilst we are a British Horse Society approved livery yard with experienced and knowledgeable staff, the overall responsibility for the health, care and safety of all horses staying with us lies with the owner. All horses staying with us should be fully insured and carry an up-to-date horse passport (copies of which will be required prior to arrival).
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Moorehouse Farm (except if you stay in the farmhouse – our own dogs get a bit upset!). However, some breeds of dog, including those listed in the Dangerous Dog Act 1991, are not allowed. We can discuss this with you at the time of booking.
There is a charge of £5 per night per dog. Assistance dogs for disabled guests are exempt from these requirements and charges. Dogs must be kept under the control of a responsible adult at all times and wear a collar with an identity tag. You must clean up after your dog.
Dogs should not be left unattended on the farm and must not be allowed on bedding or seating. If we think your dog is causing a nuisance we may ask you to remove it from the farm.
Use of your holiday accommodation
At the end of your holiday you must leave everything in a clean and tidy condition. You are responsible for any damage to your holiday accommodation during your stay. We reserve the right to enter your accommodation under special circumstances or in emergencies. Please note cots and highchairs can be hired and must be ordered at time of booking. Please bring your own cot linen.
Your personal possessions
You are responsible for your personal possessions while on the farm or in your holiday accommodation and we are not liable for any loss or damage to these.
Bed linen etc.
We provide bed linen and towels in our farmhouse B&B and chalet accommodation. If you are camping with us, or staying in your own tourer or trailer, bed linen and towels will not be supplied.
Use of facilities
When you arrive at Moorehouse Farm you will be given a brief tour of our facilities. Due to adverse weather and for health and safety reasons, some of our facilities may not be available at all times. Please check before arrival if you have specific requirements.
Around the farm
Moorehouse Farm is in a country location and we try to preserve its unspoilt, rural character. Therefore there may be areas of uneven ground, unmade tracks and paths and limited lighting. We ask you to take special care to avoid accidents.
Moorehouse Farm is a working stable and livery yard and therefore great care should be taken while moving vehicles around the farm. Vehicles are brought into the farm at your risk and we are not responsible for loss or damage to these except where it is caused by our negligence, or that of anyone we are responsible for.
Behaviour on the farm
Our holidays are intended as an escape from the rat race to a peaceful, rural retreat. Your behaviour should therefore be appropriate and should not be noisy, offensive or likely to cause any harm to other guests, staff or property at the farm.
If we feel your behaviour is illegal, offensive, disruptive or inappropriate we will ask you to leave the farm. In these circumstances no refund will be given.
Our service to you
At Moorehouse Farm, we do everything possible to ensure that you enjoy your stay with us. However, occasionally problems can occur and if they do, or you have any concerns about your stay with us, please inform a member of our team immediately and we will do our best to resolve any issues. We cannot help if you don’t inform us of any problems at the time they arise.
Cancellation by us
Very occasionally, and only in exceptional circumstances, it may become necessary for us to to cancel your booking. If so, we will tell you as soon as possible and you can choose either to have a full refund or re-schedule your holiday with us at the brochure price. If we have to cancel because of circumstances beyond our control (e.g. fire, theft or flood) we will pay a full refund. If we cancel we will have no further liability to you for this.
Whilst every care is taken to ensure that the details in this website, including any promotional emails, are correct at time of being published, we cannot accept responsibility for errors contained therein or results thereof. We are not responsible to you for unforeseen events or matters over which we have no control. While we do our best to ensure that all offer information is up to date and accurate, very occasionally some advertised short breaks in certain accommodation may not always be available on all the dates advertised.
